Richard Charles Stevenson

Richard Charles Stevenson, 79, of Cape Coral, Florida, died Tuesday, June 27, 2023, in Hope Hospice Home. He was born September 8, 1943, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Adam and Mary Ann (Marcus) Stevenson. Prior to retirement he had been an Industrial Electricity Teacher at Forbes Road East CTC, an Administrator of Adult Education at CCAC, and a School Director at Hempfield Area School District for 16 years. He was a graduate of Norwin High School (1961) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy. He was a member for over 50 years at the Shidle Lodge No. 601 F&AM in Irwin. Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl (Hodnik) Stevenson; three children, Kris Robino (Richard), Kathy Earl (Michael), and Richard Stevenson Jr. (Nicol); and six grandchildren, Rachel Robino, Lauren Robino, Madeline Earl, Gavin Earl, Colin Stevenson, and Abigail Stevenson, all of whom were loved dearly. Extended family and friends will be received from 11 AM to noon Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. The Shidle Lodge No 601 F&AM, Irwin will conduct a memorial service at 11 AM in the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home with the Rev. John Simpson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to Shriners Children’s Erie, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
