Ricky Farley

Ricky “Rick” Dale Farley, 64, of Rawlings, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at UPMC – Western Maryland surround by his loving family and friends.
Born March 19, 1961, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas Dean and Christine Ellen (Hargis) Farley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Farley; his sister, Brenda Farley Warrick; and his granddaughter, Ryleigh Byrd.
Rick was a 1979 graduate of Independence High School in Coal City, WV. Rick started at a young age in construction and with hard work and determination, he worked his way to a Chief Site Inspector for Washington County, Maryland. There he met many good friends, especially Brennan Garrett and Greg Cartrette.
Rick loved gardening and maintaining his yard. He loved digging ramps with his longtime buddy, Dallas “Doc” House. He was a member of the Cresaptown Eagles. Rick enjoyed his time at Lashbaugh’s with his friends.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Wilda Farley; children, Rose Farris and husband John, Melissa Harper and significant other Scott Byrd, Ricky Farley, Jr. and wife Elaine, Andrea Farley, and Dillon Farley; step-daughter, Jessica Swauger and husband Corbin; grandchildren, Kyleigh, Tanner, Abby, Emma, Madison, and Cody; brother, Donald Farley and wife Jana; sister, Carol Lafferty and significant other Fred; as well as many nieces and nephews, of whom he was very proud.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Harold McClay, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
