Robert Allen Adams Sr.

Mr. Robert Allen Adams, Sr. was born in Fort Mill, SC on May 9, 1941 and passed away peacefully on the morning of January 20, 2025. He is the son of the late Wesley Allen Adams and Elizabeth Hammond Adams. He served in the US Army and was employed at Celanese for 23 years. Bobby was an avid bass fisherman and a member of the Catawba Bass Association for many years. He was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, involved in the Friday morning men’s Bible study breakfast group and the wheelchair ministry. Bobby found great joy in serving alongside his buddy, Ron Russell, at the Westminster Park keeping it maintained for all to enjoy. He was privileged to have one of the park trails named in his honor.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice Martin Adams, his children, Julie Johnson (Sammy) of Greenville, SC, Allen Adams (Donna) of Rock Hill, SC; four grandchildren, Adam Johnson (Paige), Cody Adams, Andrew Johnson (Breanna), Aubrey Adams; four great grandchildren with the fifth to arrive in April; and brothers, Ronnie Adams (Sandy) and Marion Adams.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 24 at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1320 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westminster Park or the Westminster Mission Fund.
