Robert M. “Bob” Coup, 80, of Leola passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday October 5, 2024. Born in Black Lick, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Willis W. and Hazel DeArmyn Coup. He enjoyed 52 wonderful years as the loving husband of M. Jeannine Snyder Coup. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Ron. Bob & Jeannine have two loving children: Lara Coup Ertwine and Ryan Coup, and a beautiful granddaughter, Skyler Ertwine.

Bob graduated from Indiana University, PA with a degree in Elementary Education. He served in the US Army Reserve, then taught 6th grade at Landisville Elementary School in Hempfield.

He was a major contributor to the American Political Items Collectors national organization and worked with Jeannine on her business and publication for collectors called “The Political Bandwagon”.

The family extends a special thank you to the Lancaster General Hospital for their kind care of Bob and the family. Especially the family thanks LGH staff for conducting an amazing, moving Veteran’s Honor Walk. After Bob passed away, the staff came to his room, draped him with a US flag, announced the Honor Walk on the loudspeakers and people came to line the hallway to the elevator. Two Lancaster City policemen assigned to the hospital received him at the elevator with a salute, thanked him for his service, and presented the family with his flag.

Funeral services will be at 11 am, Saturday October 12, 2024 at the Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Rd., Lancaster. The family will greet friends a half hour before the service. Interment will be private at Conestoga Memorial Park.

Bob loved animals and helped care for strays. In remembrance of his kindness, in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a no-kill animal shelter or animal rescue organization of your choice.
