Robert Folk Sr.

July 4, 1941 - June 23, 2024 (Age 82)

Robert “Jughead” Folk, Sr., 82, of Cumberland, MD passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at UPMC-Western Maryland. He was born on July 4, 1941, he was a firecracker baby.

He is survived by his wife Mary E (Garlitz) Folk of 59 years. He was preceded in death by his father, David Folk; his mother, Nina (Long) Folk; two sisters: Wanda Zorn and Marion Robinette; two brothers: John Forrest Folk and Bill Folk; two brothers-in-law: Al Zorn and Russ Robinette; and a sister-in-law: June Folk.

Jughead was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. He was an avid tractor trailer driver for many many years and just loved talking on the CB radio.

He has three children: a son: Robert L. Folk, Jr. and wife Karen; two daughters: Missy Folk; and Robin Kimmell and husband Dale. He also has eight grandchildren: Forrest and Brandon Folk, Ashley Turner, Cadee and Chase Blocher, Jamie Tyler and Bryan Kimmell; and his great-grandchildren: Parker and Quinn Folk, Easton Turner, and Jasper Kimmell; and many nephews and nieces.

He loved riding his green trike, camping, watching Dallas Cowboys football, NASCAR, wrestling, all the court shows, Law and Order, game shows, and sitting on his porch listening to country music. He just loved Vince Gill, Loretta Lynn, and Conway Twitty.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Terry Elliott officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Forrest Folk, Brandon Folk, Jamie Kimmell, Tyler Kimmell, Bryan Kimmell, and Chase Blocher.

We would like to thank Moran Manor for such good care of our father while he was there; and also to the 7 South Employees that took great care of our dad during his last 2 days.
