Robert Henry Perry

December 2, 1945 - January 8, 2025 (Age 79)

Mr. Robert Henry Perry, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, comfortably at home. Born to John Robert Perry and Mary Eliza Adams Perry in Rock Hill, SC, his presence graced our world on December 2, 1945, and we have been blessed ever since.

Mr. Perry was educated in Rock Hill Public Schools and graduated in 1964 from historic Emmett Scott High School. He later earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering after which he pursued and succeeded in a profession as an Industrial Engineer with Duff Norton in Charlotte, NC. From this career he retired after more than 30 years of service to the company.

Mr. Perry was deeply committed in his walk with Christ. He was a faithful member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church from birth attending regularly with his parents and siblings. He served Rose of Sharon in numerous capacities including Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent as well as Chairman of the Deacon Board.

Additionally, he was a charter member and former president of the Rock Hill Central City Optimist Club. We are forever proud of all of the accomplishments of this outstanding organization and all he provided in the organization's endeavors. He was a member until his passing.

Mr. Perry also served the Rock Hill community as a member of the New Home Buyers Committee helping people new to homeownership buy their own homes.

Mr. Perry was ever passionate about his yard work. It was not a hobby for him; it was practically a lifestyle for him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David L. Perry.

He leaves to cherish the memory of their life together, his wife of 58 years, Margaret Rawlinson Perry. Also greatly missing him are their four children -- Steven, Dana, Robert, and Jessica. Moreover, he leaves to mourn five amazing grandchildren: Thomas McCullough, Joshua McCullough, Alex McCullough, Rachel Perry, Steven Perry; and two beautiful great grandchildren, Nilli McCullough and Niles McCullough. Left to remember him are his sister Johnnie M. Sibley and brother Jeffrey A. Perry; and sisters-in-law Betty Jean Perry and Claretha Perry.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also share in our bereavement.
