Robert J. Kozlowski

August 22, 1938 - September 4, 2023 (Age 85)

Robert J. "Koz' Kozlowski, 85, of Donegal, passed away peacefully Monday September 4, 2023 at his home. He was born August 22, 1938 in Albion, PA., a son of the late Hedwig Kozlowski Pawlowski. Robert was a graduate of Scott High School in North Braddock. Prior to his retirement he worked as an Engineering Associate with Westinghouse. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Donegal American Legion #941. He was a 14 year member of the Norwin School Board and a member of St Raymond of the Mountains R. C. Church in Donegal. Robert was a Lifetime member of the Westmoreland County Basketball Officials Association. He officiated games at both the High School and College level. He was inducted into the Westmoreland County Sports Hall of Fame for his contribution to the game of basketball. Robert also enjoyed camping, dancing, and winters in Florida since 1992.

Robert will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his children Cheryl Nelson of North Huntingdon, Mark Kozlowski of Winston-Salem, NC., and Robin Gales and husband Gordon of Connellsville, his grandchildren Bridget Nelson of Roanoke, VA., Kristen Fawnsworth and husband Danny of Bridgeport, WV., Julia Stafford and husband Ben of Roanoke, VA., Talia Gales of Connellsville, Gabriella Kozlowski of Winston-Salem, NC., and Haleigh Kozlowski of Winston-Salem, NC., his great grandchildren Riley and Logan Nelson, and his brother Carl Pawlowski of Cincinnati, OH.

In addition to his mother Robert was predeceased by his wife Joan Louise Magley Kozlowski on March 15, 2017 and a sister Paulette Johnson.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2:00 - 6:00 PM, the hour of a Prayer Service in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310), with Rev. Anthony Onoko as celebrant. Military Rites will follow conducted by the Donegal VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Interment will be private.
