Robert M. Devenburgh

November 19, 1953 - October 14, 2023 (Age 69)

Robert M. “Bob” Devenburgh, 69, of Mount Joy, passed on Saturday, October 14, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in East Petersburg, he was the son of the late Myron and Charlotte (Dupree) Devenburgh. Bob was the loving husband of Yvonne “Bonnie” (Barley) Devenburgh with whom he celebrated 42 years of marriage.

Bob was a graduate of Hempfield High School, class of 1971, and Williamsport Area Community College, graduating in 1973. He was the former owner and operator of Charlotte Industries, making a mark in the local machining industry.

Always seeking adventure, Bob loved to travel and explore. He visited all 50 states, as well as numerous countries.

Affectionately known as “Nimble” to his friends, Bob had an outgoing disposition, a gift for conversation, and was always full of life, love, and laughter. His passion for his family and friends was well known. His affable smile and contagious personality would light up a room.

As an avid fisherman, Bob spent the majority of his time on the water in Florida and the Chesapeake Bay. His love for fishing led to many international trips with his close friends and family to the Caribbean, Central and South America.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Bonnie, are two sons, Easton Devenburgh, husband of Carly (Shane) and Todd Devenburgh, husband of Alyson (Brubaker); four grandchildren, Wesley, Tyler, Sloan and Crosby; and a sister, Diane Devenburgh of MD.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles W. “Chuck” Devenburgh.

The family will receive friends at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552 on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 3-5 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ryan Brubaker Foundation, 40 South Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543 or Maple Farm Resident Enrichment Fund, 604 Oak Street, Akron, PA 17501
