Robert Posey

Robert “Bob” Posey Sr., age 86, of Pickerington, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 3, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1939, in Fredericksburg, Virginia to James H. Posey Sr. and Rosalie S. Posey.

With only a 10th-grade education, Bob built a lasting legacy through determination and hard work. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force, he worked for Suburban Heating until 1986, when he and his son started Colonial Heating & Cooling, later followed by Metal Man and Design Plumbing.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Mary; children Robert (Lora) Posey Jr., Cheryl (Larry Scarberry) Blevins, Deborah Posey, and Donna (Troy) Thoman; grandchildren Kelly Weisheimer, Taylor (Kyle) Hyer, Melody Payne, Melinda (Brandon) Holley, Austin Posey, Ayden Posey, Cody (Haley) Thoman, Chelsea (Alex) Broersma, Caleb (Sarah) Thoman, Kervens Thoman, and Withji Thoman; along with many cherished great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Tommy, Ricky, George, Donna, and Julie.

Bob enjoyed reading, watching movies, friendly banter, and making those around him smile. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, charm, humor, and being a true ladies' man.

Visitation will be held July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., with service at 12:00 p.m. at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home , 650 W Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110. He will be laid to rest at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Bob's memory.
