Robert W. Volk

Robert William Volk, 99, of Allison Park, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at home. He was born November 1, 1926 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Robert B. and Anna Volk. He was the loving husband of 76 years to the late Gladys Esther (Rob) Volk, who passed away on May 25, 2024. He was a member of Christ Church at Grove Farms with his wife. He was also US Navy Veteran, serving his country during World War 2 in the Pacific. He was a member of the NRA and American Legion. He was also an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, as well as being a part of a fast pitch softball team. He was a Manager for Bell Telephone for over 40 years until his retirement. He is survived by his daughter, Janet A. (Benjamin) Caplan of Allison Park; son, Ross David (Margaret) Volk of Randolph, NJ; grandchildren, Emily, Volk, Steven Volk and David Volk; sister, Arlene Blamick of North Versailles. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Wayne Volk and granddaughter, Rachael Volk. Friends are welcome Thursday June 25, 2026 from 10 AM to Noon at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director.
