Roberta L. Bernardini

Roberta L. Bernardini, 83, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of New Kensington, died Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Sentara Hospice House, Virginia Beach. She was born May 28, 1938, in New Kensington, daughter of the late Guido and Amelia (D'Amico) Bartolacci. She was the wife of the late Mario Bernardini. Besides her parents and her husband, Roberta was preceded in death by her aunt, Elvira, and uncle, Dom Bartolacci, of New Kensington; cousins, Dora Bartolacci, of New Kensington, and Reynold Bartolacci, of Dallas Texas; aunt, Loretta, and uncle, Attilio Bartolacci, of New Kensington, and cousins, Eugene Bartolacci, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Alfred Bartolacci, of New Kensington. Roberta was also preceded in death by her cousins, Nea Marcantonio, Murphy Bartolacci, Gaspare Bartolacci, Vito Bartolacci, Sylvio Bartolacci and Lucy Vawerchak, all of New Kensington. Roberta attained a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Michigan and was an emeritus professor of nursing for 33 years at Tidewater Community College. Nothing gave her greater pride than graduates who came back to hell her how much they valued her teaching and high standards of excellence. She also served as vice president and director of nursing for various hospitals in Pennsylvania and Virginia before and while teaching. Roberta was active in the National League for Nursing, St. Mark Parish and numerous community agencies in Virginia. Roberta is survived by her beloved dog, Meeca; cousins, Guido Bartolacci, Paul Marcantonio, Carolyn (David) Ludwig, Paul Krawczykiewicz, Laurie Krawczykiewicz, Michael Krawczykiewicz, Gloria Ferri, Janice Ferri-Reed and (Richard) Reed, of Aliquippa, Mark and (Michelle DelGuercio) Ferri, of New York City, N.Y., and Lisa and (Tom) Godlasky, of Naples, Fla. Arrangements are entrusted to the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. There will be a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, in the Catholic Church of St. Mark, Virginia Beach. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VBSPCA), or The Philippine Nurse's Association of Virginia (PNAVA), of which she was an honorary member.
