Rodger Keith Rhinehart

March 17, 1945 - May 15, 2025 (Age 80)

Rodger Keith Rhinehart, a man whose life exemplified devotion to family and service to his community, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Longview, Washington, on March 17, 1945, Rodger was a cherished husband, loving father and grandfather, and a respected figure in Canal Winchester, Ohio.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan (Bender) Rhinehart, Rodger is survived by his sisters, Clara Arneson and Shirley Jones. His legacy continues through his children, Rebecca, Andrew (Jaylyn), and Scotty (Chelsea), and his adored granddaughters, Eleanor, Allegra, and Lucy, who brought him immense happiness.

Rodger dedicated his career to engineering, retiring from Reynolds Metals and Hague Quality Water. His commitment extended beyond his profession through active involvement in the community. He enthusiastically coached his children’s sports, participated in Indian Guides and Boy Scouts of America, contributed to the Lion’s Club, and shared his voice in the community choir.

In his leisure time, Rodger enjoyed woodworking, the comfort of old western novels and Hallmark movies, and camaraderie with his bowling team. He treasured family vacations and camping trips with his loved ones. Above all, he adored moments spent with his grandchildren, always ready to offer support and a cheerful laugh.

Rodger will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, unwavering support for his family, and his easy smile and quick wit, that brightened everyone's day. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends and family are invited to visitation at Dwayne Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester on Thursday, May 22nd, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Canal Winchester Methodist Church on Friday, May 23rd, at 10 am, followed by a graveside service at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
