Rollin M. Hetrick
September 11, 1932 - August 15, 2022 (Age 89)
Rollin Max Hetrick, 89 of Zanesville, went peacefully to Heaven on August 15, 2022.
He was born on September 11, 1932, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Robert Lee Hetrick Jr. and Mabel Oretta (Snyder) Hetrick.
He is survived by his daughters, Diana (Jeff) Arbuckle, Cheryl (Scott) Carpenter, Mary (Brad) Kaufmann; his Grandchildren, Sara (Alex) Meyers, Emily (Tyler) Barker, Steven (Lauren) Carpenter, and William Kaufmann; and his Great Grandchildren, Beau Meyers and Leora Meyers; and extended friends that were like family that are too many to name or count (and you know who you are).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Ruth Leora (Coss) Hetrick; his brother Bobby Hetrick, and sisters Mary DuBois and Carol Hetrick.
Rollin served in the Army, was an active contributor serving his community as a member of the American Legion, the VFW, The Masonic Lodge, and the Amrou Grotto. He was proud to serve on the board of the Muskingum County Soil and Water Conservation District. He was also an active member of the Muskingum Church in Nashport, Ohio.
Professionally he was an entrepreneur for most of his life. He owned and operated a SOHIO Dealership from 1955-1977. He owned and operated Green's Tea Room, Restaurant & Tavern from 1977-1987. For over 5 decades, he successfully owned and managed a farm with livestock and crops. He worked for McHugh Dealership from 1989–1999. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He also loved to play pool, cards, tell stories, stretch the truth, do the jitterbug and spend time with his adoring family.
Calling hours will be held on Friday August 26, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home in Zanesville, Ohio. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Muskingum Church, 4545 Gorsuch Rd, Nashport, Ohio. Daughter Mary Kaufmann will officiate. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Rollin will be laid to rest next to his wife at Zanesville Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, consider honorary donations to his favorite charities, Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and the Hospice of Central Ohio.
