Rosa Lassiter
August 15, 1940 - December 29, 2023 (Age 83)
Rosa Davis Lassiter was born in Wake County, North Carolina on August 15, 1940, to the late Leroy and Margaret Davis. She was called to eternal rest on December 29, 2023 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC.
She was married to William Lassiter for 64 years. To this union one child was born the late Elton Louis Lassiter.
Rosa received her education in Wake County Public School System. She graduated from Apex Consolidated High School in 1958.
At an early age she confessed Christ as her personal savior and joined Bazzel Creek Baptist Church in Fuquay Varina, NC. Once married she joined the United Church of Christ in Holly Springs, NC. William and Rosa relocated quite a bit due to William’s job but with each location they would find a place to worship and minister. In 1978 Rosa joined Trinity Baptist Church where she remained a member until death. Rosa was a dedicated servant of God. She was very active at Trinity; her first love was the Youth Department where she served as the advisor. She worked in many other positions such as Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess Board Chairperson, and Church Clerk. With her church clerk duties, she worked hand and hand with the other auxiliary leaders, which brought about many changes within Trinity. Rosa’s ministry extended outside of Trinity as well. For many years she was the president over the youth advisory committee of Sandy River Association in York County. Her dedication and hard work with the youth won them many trophies, plaques, and awards from the E&M Conventions of South Carolina.
Rosa worked in customer service at Sears for 25 years until her health failed which resulted in her retirement. Rosa formed many long-lasting friendships within Sears.
Rosa was preceded in death by her son Elton Louis Lassiter, two siblings, sister, Doris Davis Judd and brother, Jimmy Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband William Lassiter, one sister Mary Lou Evans, brother Ben Davis both of Apex, NC, and brother Larry Davis(Margaret) of Durham, NC. Two sisters in law Cora Adams and Victoria Judd both of Holly Springs, NC. One daughter in law, Sallie Lassiter of Waldorf, MD. Four grandchildren, Cherita Waddy (James) of Fort Washington, MD, Bradford Lassiter, Jasmine Lassiter and Marissa Lassiter all of Waldorf, MD. Four great grandchildren James Z. Waddy III, Zaria Waddy, Samatha Waddy and Kiersten Waddy all of Fort Washington, MD. God-children Ursula and Bert Patterson of Rock Hill, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We find ourselves prepared to accept the coming of the end, for our loved one has lived a beautiful, productive, and long life… a life rich in good deeds, victories, and achievements. For this We can only say, “To God be the Glory”.
