Rosellen Morgan
April 22, 1926 - January 6, 2026 (Age 99)
Rosellen F. Morgan, born in Cumberland, MD on April 22, 1926, was the daughter of the late William Warren Dunlap and Margaret Ursula Geiger.
Rosellen was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Albert Morgan, Jr., a sister Carolyn Ann Dashiell, a sister Margaret Eileen Leatherman and a brother Raymond Elwood Dunlap.
Rosellen is survived by her daughter Diane Morgan; her son Thomas Morgan and his wife Barbara of Frederick MD; a brother-in-law Elbert Leatherman of St. George, UT; five grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson, Laura McGregor, Gregory Morgan and wife Samantha of Frederick MD, Kimberly Morgan and husband Gavin McDonald of Kensington MD and Brian Morgan (Kailey Boyd) of Durham NC; seven great grandchildren: Rachel Rose (Devin), Caitlyn McGregor and husband Garrett Minnick, Johnathan McGregor, Tamsen McDonald, Penelope Morgan, Arden McDonald and Rhys Morgan; and three great-great grandchildren: Oliver Minnick, Theodore Minnick and Daisy Johnston-Wilson. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Rosellen was a 1943 graduate of Fort Hill High School. She was a long-standing member of the LaVale United Methodist Church, the Fellowship Class and the United Methodist Women. She also served as church treasurer from 1965 to 1971. Rosellen was a member of Maryland Association for Family and Community Education.
An avid hobbyist, she enjoyed sewing, painting, ceramics and organ playing. She performed frequently with other members of the Notables Organ Club at local charity events, senior centers and nursing homes throughout Allegany County. As part of her love for organ playing, she was a member of L.I.F.E, an international organization of hobbyist music makers.
She was employed by GC Murphy, Stewart Music House, Sears and finished her years of employment as an employee and store manager at DJ Fabrics in LaVale, retiring in 1976.
Friends will be welcomed at the Adams Family Funeral Home at 404 Decatur Street in Cumberland on Tuesday January 13th from 3 to 6 pm and on Wednesday January 14th from 11am until noon. A funeral service will be held beginning at noon on Wednesday the 14th.
Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
