Carpendale, WV – Roy Ralph Rhodes, 78, of Carpendale, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born March 31, 1944, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Rhodes was the son of the late Michael M. Rhodes and Dorothy Elaine (Cowgill) Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Elaine Rhodes, his son, Roy R. Rhodes, Jr., and two sisters: Sharon Legeer and Nancy Boyer.
A was a U.S. Navy Veteran, Roy retired from I.A. Construction and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #136 and Ridgely V.F.W. Post #6452.
Roy is survived by his children: Teresa Jenkins and husband, David, Scott Rhodes; Bobbi Bradshaw and fiancé Artie Conner; his grandchildren: Samantha Smith, Christopher Crawford, Joseph Crawford, Chandler Rhodes, Chaziah Rhodes, Kendra Jenkins, Kirra Jenkins and David Jenkins, Jr.; as well as three great grandchildren; his brother, Danny Rhodes and wife, Sandy; and his sister, Jeanie Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 1:00 P.M., with Butch Jenkins officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
