Russel “Neil” Wilson, 88 of Zanesville, passed away on August 18, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on November 21, 1935, in Newark, Ohio, son of the late Noel Jesse Wilson and Violet (Edward) Wilson. Neil worked at Texico as a mechanic and Brink’s as an Armed Guard, as well as Hart’s Family Center, where he retired after 30 plus years. In his spare time, he enjoyed racing stock cars and working on cars. Above all, he loved spending his time with his loved ones.
Neil is survived by his 2 children: John (Sandy Emerson) Wilson, Karen Wilson; and brother, Sam Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Margaret (Angles) Wilson; brothers, Kenneth Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Raymond Wilson; and sister, Sheilda Deavers.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 22, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
