Russell Bucy

LaVale, MD- Russell “Russ” Harvey Bucy, Jr., 98, of LaVale, MD passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 27, 1925 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Bucy was the son of the late Russell Harvey Bucy, Sr., and Martha Viola (Clites) Bucy. He was preceded in death by a son Russell Bucy and a grandson Gregory Talbot.
Russ was a graduate of Allegany High School and was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1944-1946. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was an active member of Park Place United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a very special person and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Russ is survived by his wife of 75 years, Margaret H. Bucy; his daughter JoAnn Talbot and husband Bruce; his grandchildren Matthew Talbot, Brandon Bucy and wife Kirsten; and Alice Pettit and husband, Frank; and his great-grandchildren: Creola and Russell Bucy; and James Pettit.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Vicki Cubbage officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Park Place United Methodist Church, 80 National Highway, Cumberland, MD 21502, in Russ’ name.
