Ruth A. Tomanek

Ruth A. "Ruthie" Tomanek, 81, of Greensburg, died Monday, May 30, 2022. She was born July 5, 1940, in Dawson, a daughter of the late Huey and Evelyn Ruth McKnight Smith. She had attended Pennsville Baptist Church, where she helped with Bible school and meals for the sick and hospitalized. She was a resident of Greensburg Care Center, where she was loved and well cared for. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph August Tomanek. She is survived by a son, Joseph Tomanek, of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Lisa (Dean) Pieretti, of Unity Township, and Kimberly (Michael) Luft, of Hunker; six grandchildren: Cecily Luft, Michael Luft Jr., Matthew Pieretti, Alexander Luft, Ariana Pieretti and Ayden Luft; two great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Jaxon Shively; and three sisters, Nancy Krause, of Ohio, Judy Trout, of Connellsville, and Karen Sholtis, of Connellsville. There will be no public visitation or service. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
