Edna Ruth Parker

Edna Ruth Parker, age 100, passed away at Primrose Retirement Home in Zanesville on April 18, 2023.

She was born September 26, 1922 in Morgan County Ohio, a daughter of Edward H. And Nellie

Graham Stegner. Ruth was the last surviving member of the 1940 graduating class of Manchester

High School. Ruth was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her

family.

She is survived by her son, Dr. John L. Parker (Ann); three grandchildren, Erin Horstman

(Kevin) of Circleville, Ohio, Dr. Lauren Parker (Anthony) of Columbus, Ohio and Dr.

Christopher Parker (Kala) of Zanesville; a great grandson, Lane Warner Parker and two great

granddaughters, Nora Ann and Natalie Claire Horstman and also survived by several

special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence

“Larry”Parker on February 15, 2015; two brothers Richard and Robert Stegner and a sister

Evelyn Brown.

At her request, there will be a private service for family and will be laid to rest beside her husband at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
