Sandra Podkul

Sandra J. “Sandy” (Zigarovich) Podkul, 79, of Trafford, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Walden’s View of North Huntingdon. Sandy was born October 3, 1946, in Braddock, PA. The daughter of the late Vincent and June (Lyle) Zigarovich. Sandy worked for years at the former East Suburban OBGYN Associates in Monroeville. Sandy loved taking care of her family, spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed summer vacations with family in Myrtle Beach. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching Steelers and Penguins games and was a member of St. Regis Church, Trafford. Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry “Hank” Podkul in 2014. She is survived by her children, Mark Podkul (Kelly), of Greensburg; and Dawn Blank (Jeff) of Jeannette; her grandchildren Allison, Morgan, and Sarah Podkul and Cody and Jack Blank; sisters June Cain (Randy) and Donna Schneider (Marty); and her brother Vince Zigarovich (the late Gerri); along with her brother-in-law Stanley Podkul (Barbara); also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc, 702 7th St. (State Rt 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers of transfer will be on Tuesday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM in the St. Regis Church, Trafford with Fr. Daniel Carr as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum, North Huntingdon.
