Sharon Griffin Smith

December 24, 1947 - December 3, 2025 (Age 77)

Sharon “Sherry” Griffin Smith, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, was born in Monroe, North Carolina, on December 24, 1947. She entered her heavenly home on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her family at Union Medical Center in Union, South Carolina.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eddie Warren Smith. Together, they built a life filled with love and faith at their home in Union, SC.

She was preceded in death by her son, Warren McCray “Cray” Smith, and daughter, Christy J. Smith. She is survived by two daughters: Alicia Smith Godfrey and husband Alan, and Kelly Smith Fisher and husband Robert, siblings, Boyce Richard “Rick” Griffin of Monroe, N.C. and Teresa Griffin Lawson and husband Tim of Rock Hill, SC.

Sherry was blessed with a large and loving family, including 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her grandchildren include Taylor Smith and wife, Laurie. McKayla Smith Henry, and husband, Garrett. Nicholas Hunter, Brittany Hunter Lightsey and husband Patrick. Andrew Fisher, Josiah Fisher and wife Johnna, Grace Fisher Jordan and husband Keegan, and John Fisher. Amber Roxanne Petty and husband James, and Bobby “Dean” Helms.

Sherry loved life and lived it to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her greatest joy was sharing His love with others. She had a special ministry of distributing “prayer cards,” which brought comfort and encouragement to countless brothers and sisters in Christ.

In addition to her ministry, Sherry was a gifted interior designer who could make any home beautiful with her talent. Her passion for historical architecture was evident in the elegant home she created, filled with antique treasures and timeless furnishings. Her creativity and eye for beauty touched everyone who experienced her work.

Her legacy of faith, love, and artistry will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation & Service Details

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Greene Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White Street, Rock Hill, SC.

A Graveside Service will follow immediately after visitation at Grandview Memorial Park, 387 Hollis Lakes Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
