Shelia Renee Floyd

Shelia Renee Floyd, 61, passed away on July 4, 2026. Born March 7, 1965, she had most recently resided in Speedwell, Virginia, and was formerly of Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Independence High School in Charlotte, NC.

Those who knew Shelia will remember the bright spirit she brought into everyday life and the care she took in expressing herself. She found such enjoyment in shopping and going to yard sales, and she delighted in the simple pleasures of watching movies and playing bingo. She also cherished her pets, who held a special place in her heart.

Shelia will be remembered with love for her vibrant personality, her love of jewelry, and the distinctive, stylish way she coordinated what she wore—an attention to detail that reflected both creativity and pride in presentation. Her memory will remain in the lives of those who loved her and in the many small moments that became meaningful simply because she was part of them.

Shelia is survived by her father, Hubert Gladden, sister, Kathy (Ray) Dold, nephew, Aaron, Sharon and Shelby Dold, as well as her beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her special friends, Elisabeth Turner and Patty Gray. She was predeceased by her mother, Pat Turner, as well as her grandparents, Holland & Zelda Gladden and Louie & Verla Crump.

Family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227, on July 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will be Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
