Shelby "Mama" C. Grindstaff

Shelby “Mama” C. Grindstaff, age 66, of Indian Trail, NC passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Hospice of Union County. She was born in Monroe, NC on July 16, 1955 to mother Pauline R. Crook, who preceded her in death. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Faith Baptist Church Indian Trail with a funeral service beginning at 12:00PM.
Shelby loved shopping and going out to eat, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandkids. She was of the Baptist denomination and a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church for many years. She worked at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose Throat as an administrative assistant before her retirement. Shelby was always putting others before herself and didn’t know the word no. She will be remembered as a loving, caring wife and mother and an angel when it came to family and loved her dogs Tucker and Sadie.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years and 3 weeks Michael Grindstaff; son Timothy Grindstaff, wife Melissa. Four grandchildren; Nicholas Grinstaff, Cody Helms, Aaron Michael and Justin Ritch; two great-grandchildren, Bently Ritch, Bailey Ritch and one on the way. Three brothers; Curtis Crook of Concord, NC, Dale Lynn Crook of Gastonia, NC , Dave Crook of Denver, NC and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, Shelby is preceded in death by her son Michael Lynn Grindstaff.
