Sherry L. Frye

Sherry Lee Frye, 58, of New Alexandria, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was born October 15, 1967, in Latrobe, a daughter of Nancy J. (John) Leone Schandel, of Latrobe, and the late James W. Altman. She was a member of the Bovard Firemen’s Club and the Old Crabtree Sportsmen’s Club. She enjoyed reading and laying in the sun. Besides her mother, Sherry is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Frye; a daughter, Crystal Frye, of New Alexandria; a step-daughter, Jolee (Ryan) Hantz, of Latrobe; three grandchildren: Josee Hantz, Myles Hantz, and Bryar Perry; two brothers: Rich (Angela) Altman, of New Alexandria, and Daniel “Flash” (Debbie) Altman, of Bovard; two sisters: Chrissy (Mark) Zilli, of New Alexandria, and Angie (Mark) Henderson, of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A liturgy service outside of Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
