Shirley A. Hixson

Shirley A Hixson, 88, of Greensburg, formerly of Youngwood, passed away on Sunday January 11, 2026. She was born on March 19, 1937, in New Stanton, the daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Seeman) Smith. Shirley enjoyed listening to Elvis, playing cards, Scrabble, going to Bingo and baking for her friends and family. Her most requested baked good was her famous peanut butter balls. Shirley is survived by her children, Dennis Hampton, of Mt. Pleasant, and Joseph Hixson, and his wife Sue, of Claridge; her beloved seven grandchildren, that includes her special girls, Ashley and Anncher, sixteen great grandchildren, and her one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughters, Debbie Hampton and Brenda Comunale; her son, Ron Hampton; her brothers, Larry Smith, Dick Smith, and Bill Smith; and her sister, Jane Smith. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 14, from 5-8 PM., in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 15, at 11 AM. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
