Shirley J. Bishop

Shirley J. (Hegele) Bishop, 89, widow of William "Bill" Bishop of Pottstown passed away on Sunday July 13, 2025 at her residence.
Born in Bechtelsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John J. Hegele and Ardell G. (Koch) Hegele.
Shirley worked as a florist for the former Strogus Flower Shop, Pottstown retiring in 1989, and later worked as a sales consultant at Boscov's Department Store for ten years, retiring in 2001.
She was a member of Colebrookdale Chapel and the Boyertown High School class of 1954.
She is survived by two sons, William J. Barnes, Jr. husband of Shannon, Pottstown, Robert J. Barnes husband of Nena, Pottstown; two grandchildren, Josh & Dana and two bonus grandchildren/neighbors Calvin & Cecilia.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday August 23, 2025 at the Colebrookdale Chapel, 2018 Farmington Avenue, Boyertown with a luncheon to follow. Officiating will be Reverend Robert Stringfellow. Burial will be private.
