Shirley Karns
December 29, 1934 – October 5, 2026 (Age 91)
Shirley A. Karns, 91, of Martinsburg, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Conemaugh Nason Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Ryot on December 29, 1934, daughter of the late J. Alan and Ruth (Mock) Mickle.
On May 12, 1952, she married her husband S. Wilbert Karns in Cumberland, MD; and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2021.
She is survived by son- Alan husband of Karen (Ressler) Karns, of Bedford; son- W. Kirk husband of Barb (Stufft) Karns, of Everett; four grandchildren: Jason (Cheryl) Karns, Kerry Noel, Matthew (Angela) Karns, Jessica (Troy) Dodson; three great-grandchildren: Kendall Noel, Jarret Karns, Caden Dodson; sister- Eileen Ayers; numerous special nieces and nephews; special cousins: Bob & Shirley Mock, Tam Mock, Rubye Waller and special friend Joan Sell.
Shirley was a member of Manns Choice Church of God. She worked at Kennametal from 1957-1997, where she was the supervisor Inspector of the Carbide. She enjoyed music, and was very talented at playing the Piano, Organ, Clarinet and accordion.
A viewing will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 9-11AM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Bedford, with a funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Aaron Whetstone officiating.
Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford, PA.
