Sonja Osbourne

Cresaptown,MD- Sonja Eileen Osbourne, 84, of Cresaptown passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at UPMC- Western Maryland.
Born December 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Lee and Araminta Edna (Weimer) Hounshell. She was also preceded in death by her husband James W. Osbourne; her son James W. Osbourne,II; brothers JG, Ed and Dale; sisters Irma Lee and Edna Cessna.
Sonja worked alongside her husband in their business, Fire Protection Products. She was an active member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church, and an active member of Cresaptown Eagles Auxiliary. Her favorite past time was the time she spent with family, especially her grandchildren, and playing Bingo with friends.
Surviving are her three daughters Cathy McKenzie (Denny), Tracey Broadwater (Scott) and Kelly Athey (Todd); her daughter-in-law Cindy Osbourne; grandchildren, Matthew and Dean McKenzie, Heather Green, Ashley Haines, Amber Whitaker, Brock and Cameron Athey; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Trey, and MaKayla Mckenzie, Shane Whitaker, Cole and Reid Robinson, Trenton and Colton Haines, Morgan Wymer, Kaden Belford, Grason and Rilon Whitaker; and great-great-grandson, Walker Whitaker; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, August 7 from 6-8:00pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown. A funeral service will be Tuesday, August 8 at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Patrick Buhrman officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Cresaptown.
