Stephen Edward Kalis

Stephen Edward Kalis, 70, of Macungie, PA, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Pottstown, PA, on April 9, 1953, Stephen was the son of the late Francis L. Kalis and Marian (Rhoads) Kalis.
Stephen proudly graduated from Pottsgrove High School in 1971, and worked as a janitor for both Pottstown Hospital and Bally Ribbon Mills, from which he eventually retired in 2020. He was a devoted attendee of the Philadelphia Folk Festival, a loyal fan of the Flyers and Eagles, an avid trout fisherman, a skilled solver of jigsaw puzzles, and had a deep passion for tending to his flowers and vegetable garden.
Stephen is lovingly remembered by his children, Alexandra Hinkle, Mary Kalis, Aaron (& Jennifer) Kalis, and Trip Kalis; his grandchildren, Marshall, Hailey, Caitlyn, Zachary, Emma, and Emily; and many other beloved family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Kalis, Gary Kalis, and David Kalis.
A viewing will take place on February 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA 19464.
