Steven Michael Pivarnik, 87, of North Huntingdon, died peacefully on June 24, 2026 at his home, while surrounded by his family. He was born on January 10, 1939, in Duquesne, the son of the late George and Margaret (Ballas) Pivarnik. After that, he worked in the commercial real estate industry for seven years: five years at Zamagias Properties and two years at Landmark Properties. Steve finished his career at Cercone’s Barbershop, where he worked for 31 years, retiring at the age of 84. Steve was the husband of his beloved late wife, Charlotte (Renda) Pivarnik, for 56 years. He was the father of two children, Jamie Pivarnik (wife Renee), and the late Jeffrey Pivarnik. Steve is also survived by the loves of his life, his two grandsons, Mason and Maddox Pivarnik. In addition to his parents, wife, and son, Steve was preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard and George Pivarnik, and his three sisters-in-law, Vicky Pivarnik, JoEllen Renda, and Jackie Pivarnik. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Renda; several nieces and nephews; many friends; as well as his co-worker and very close friend, Dennis Scullion (wife Beth). Steve loved his wife and family dearly. He and Charlotte met dancing and danced their way through life for over 50 years. He enjoyed his friends and dining out at restaurants. Steve most loved his two grandsons. The pride he felt for them was immense. They meant everything to him. Steve battled Leukemia for the last three years of his life and felt incredibly grateful for the care he received from Hillman Cancer Center, both locally and in Shadyside. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Services will be private on Monday, with private interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steven’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
