Susan L. Johnson

October 25, 1956 - March 24, 2025 (Age 68)

Susan L. Johnson, age 68, passed away peacefully March 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, on October 25, 1956, to Charles R. and Eva J. Johnson. Susan was a graduate of Westland High School, Class of 1974.

Susan was a woman of deep faith and unwavering love for her family. She lived her life with a compassionate heart, always extending kindness to those around her. Her daughter lovingly remembers her mother’s joy in simple pleasures—especially her love for horseback riding and the special bond she shared with her many beloved dogs.

A creative and talented woman, Susan spent years working in cosmetology before following her true passion as a self-employed dog groomer. Her care and gentle nature touched not only the pets she worked with but also the countless families who trusted her with their four-legged companions.

Susan’s home was always filled with the sound of classic country music—whether she was singing along to George Strait or swaying to the timeless voice of Elvis Presley. She was a spirited fan of the Dallas Cowboys and proudly cheered for her Ohio State Buckeyes every season.

Her life was a reflection of the things she cherished most: her faith, her family, her animals, and the simple joys of music, laughter, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and heartfelt devotion that will continue to live on in those who knew her.

Susan is survived by her partner John Salva; mother, Eva Johnson; brother Jody Johnson (Becky); sister, Sharon Griffith; daughter, Crystal Lawrence (Frank); grandchildren, Brian Andrews, Logan Andrews, Kyleigh Lawrence; nephews, Brad Johnson (Alley), Rick Griffith (Deneka); and her doggies.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Johnson.

Friends and family may show their support at Dwayne Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester, Ohio. 650 W. Waterloo St, Canal Winchester, OH 43110. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
