Suzanne M. Roberts

Suzanne Marie Roberts, 70, of York, SC, passed peacefully on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved deeply. Born August 29, 1955 in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Sr. and Grace Perrone Westlake.

Suzanne, also lovingly known as “Nana”, had a rare gift: a contagious excitement and a heart with room for everyone. She lived with a playful but adventurous spirit and an openness to life that drew people to her naturally. She was fond of curling up with a novel, hunting for treasures at a thrift store, and sitting in her zen room sipping a glass of wine. She had a decades-long career in early childhood education, where she opened her home and heart to countless little ones during their formative years. She was dedicated to her family and known for always being present with the people she loved. She will be forever cherished as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her legacy is the lasting impact she left on every life fortunate enough to have been touched by hers.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Roberts of York, SC; her children Shannon Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Kevin Richardson (Marisol) of Fort Mill, SC, Amanda Rollins (Lloyd) of Rock Hill, SC, and David Richardson (Kimberly) of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Mackenzie, Audriana, Olivia, KJ, Kaden, and Lauryn; brother Bruce Westlake (Madonna), sisters Kathy McCarthy and Sandra Lewis, stepdaughters, nieces, nephews, and dogs Harley and Marley.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Lewis and Clifford Westlake Jr., and her sister Judith Brown.

A service will be held at Grandview Memorial Park-Hollis Lakes, 401 Hollis Lakes Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to A Giving Heart Foundation.
