Suzuko B. Hewes
January 15, 1924 – July 27, 2026 (Age 102)
Suzuko Banno Hewes, 102, of Lancaster, passed away at Rose City Nursing & Rehab on Monday, July 27, 2026. Born in Gifu-ken, Japan, she became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1996.
Suzuko was married for 52 years to the late Jay B. Hewes who preceded her in death in 2010.
Suzuko worked as a housekeeper for the former St. Joseph Hospital, retiring after 20 years. Playing cards, especially Poker and Pinochle, was one of her favorite pass times.
Suzuko is survived by her sons, Patrick B. Hewes, of Lancaster, and John Banno, of Japan; grandson, Kyle Hewes, whom she adored and loved greatly. She is also survived by her nephew and three nieces.
Graveside services for Suzuko will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Riverview Burial Park, 1100 S. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
