Sybil Whisonant Lacy

Fort Mill, SC – Sybil Whisonant Lacy, 88, passed away on March 16, 2025 at The Blake at Baxter Village.
A native of Indian Land, SC, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Laxton Whisonant and Esther Merritt Whisonant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Raymond Lacy, parents, her sisters, Willie Miles, Barbara Johnson, and Carol Sue Melton; and brothers, Otis L. Whisonant and Grady Cole Whisonant.
She was a graduate of Indian Land High School, Fort Mill, SC. She was formerly a realtor and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She retired from First Union National Bank in Charlotte, NC, where she was an Administrative Assistant. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, decorating, and crosswords. She was a Baptist but most importantly a follower of Jesus and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Schirm and Lisa Dufford and husband, Dan; two sons, William D. Lacy and his wife, Karen, and Derek S. Lacy and his wife, Missy; grandchildren, Kristin (Travis) Mensching, Courtney Brown, Kyle Schirm, Melissa Lloyd and husband Mike, Adrienne Davilla and husband Xavier, Daniel, Benjamin (Anyssa), and Stephen Lacy, Hannah (Josh) Webb, Scott (Caroline) Lacy and Ian Lacy; seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 2 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732, with Pastor Barry Yates officiating.
