Terry Bane

Cumberland, MD -Terry Lee Bane, 54, of Cumberland, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at UPMC-Western Maryland surrounded by his father, sister and brother. His last breath was used to sing the words to “Amazing Grace.”
Born November 1, 1966 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Bane was the son of Richard Nelson Bane and the late Velma Elaine (Wilson) Bane.
Terry was a 1984 Graduate of Allegany High School where he played football. He joined the United States Navy right out of high school. He retired from the United States Navy and became a travel agent for various agencies throughout his career. He found joy in making many travelers dream trips come true. He made many lifelong friends through the Navy and his travel work. He enjoyed traveling with his family, bowling and followed many sports.
Surviving him besides his father are his sister: Sheila Mattingly; his brother: Richard N. Bane, Jr., and brother-in-law Steven Hoult; his nephew: Kevin Mattingly; his niece: Julie Hiller; his grand-nieces and grand-nephew: Taylor, Haleigh, and Michael Mattingly; and Katelyn and Kylie Hiller; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. His loving smile and caring nature will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.
A funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating.
