Terry D. Swindell

Terry D. Swindell, 73, of Lincoln Highway, Everett, Pennsylvania; passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at home. He was born on January 04, 1952 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Paul Fred and Doris (Zimmerman) Swindell. On December 1, 1977 in Bedford, PA he was united in marriage to Mary Jane G. (Greninger) Swindell. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2020.

He is survived by children Renee Alyssa Swindell; Nicole Dole Gonzalez married to Carlos, and Michelle Swindell and fiancé Michael Weigle; grandchildren Allison Van Rosendale, Vince Morningstar, Haley Morningstar, Evan Gonzalez Dole, and Miah Snyder; sister LuAnn Foor married to Denny.

Mr. Swindell was a graduate of the Everett High School Class of 1969. Terry served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1971 during the Vietnam War. He worked as a concrete batch operator for New Enterprise Stone & Lime and later served as a treasurer for the Everett American Legion for sixteen years.

Terry was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 08, where he enjoyed purchasing the gifts for the annual children’s Christmas Party; he was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, baseball, and was a Pittsburgh sports fan and most of all doting over his grandchildren. Terry was a Christmas fanatic and loved the Christmas season.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Akers Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
