Theresa Hunter

Theresa (DiMaio) Hunter, 93, of Gilpin Township, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Concordia in Cabot.
A daughter of the late Louis DiMaio and Jennie (Rapp) DiMaio, she was born September 16, 1932, in New Kensington.
Theresa worked as an Administrative Assistant at Alcoa for 14 years until 1965. She later worked at Retail Promotions, RIDC Park, Ohara Township, retiring in 2002. She was an active member of Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church in Leechburg. Theresa was a member of the Gilpin Township Ladies Auxiliary, the Leechburg Band Boosters, Mother’s Club, the PTA, and a Leechburg Pool Board Member. Outside of time spent participating in her many memberships, she enjoyed reading, completing word search puzzles, watching the Hallmark channel, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Dawn Lee McLaughlin of Gilpin Township, Darlene M. Miller (Kevin) of Gilpin Township, and Doreen L. Hunter-Hirshka (Jason) of Allegheny Township; five grandchildren, Devin Miller, Jessica Pierce, Johnathan McLaughlin, Garrett Miller, and Hunter Hirshka; four great-grandchildren, Tenleigh Pierce, Cooper McLaughlin, Brooks Miller, and Reese Miller.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald L. Hunter, and her brother, Markel “Sonny” DiMaio.
Friends will be welcomed by the family on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies beginning at Noon at Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main Street, Leechburg, with the Rev. James V. Arter III officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Rd., Lower Burrell.
