Thomas Charles Porter
February 19, 1930 - October 14, 2024 (Age 94)
Thomas Charles Porter, 94, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at his home in Pottstown, PA. He was the husband of the late Gloria Dawn (Yusko) Porter, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage until her passing on August 29, 2023.
Born in Meadville, PA, on February 19, 1930, Thomas was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Shoemaker) Porter.
Thomas honorably served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed a long, successful career as a skilled welding instructor and boilermaker. In the 1960s, Thomas worked on the NASA space capsules, a project he was proud to be a part of. A devoted member of Pottstown Church of the Nazarene, he lived his Christian faith by generously sharing it with everyone around him. Thomas found great joy working with his hands, whether tinkering with cars or nurturing his vegetable garden. A lifelong Phillies fan, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family. As a loving father and grandfather, his legacy of love and devotion will be carried on by those who knew and cherished him.
Thomas is lovingly remembered by his children, Gail (& Pierre) DeMauriac, John (& Kathy) Porter, Evelyn Spaar, Laurie (& Ed) Cretsinger, Lori Taylor, and Thomas (& Megan) Porter; his fourteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his nephew, Chris Stein.
In addition to his wife and parents, Thomas was predeceased by his brothers and sister.
