Thomas P. “Pap” Richey, 85, of Upper Burrell, died Wednesday March 30, 2022 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 5, 1936 in Kittanning, the son of the late Jay and Myrna (Tarr) Richey. Tom is survived by children Joyce (Jeff) Ewing and Thomas (Janet) Richey, Jr, both of Upper Burrell; Barbara (late Louis) Pugliese of Sharpsburg; and Carol (Kevin) Barrett of Dayton; grandfather of Melissa (Ray) Baronie; Jeffrey (Anna) Ewing; Nicole (Brian) Wethli; Christopher (Becky) Barrett; and Derek (Sara) Pugliese; great-grandfather of Adriana and Annalisa Baronie; Tucker and Everley Wethli; Hadley and Troy Barrett; Thaddeus Ewing and Rhett Pugliese. He was employed by Dill Construction in Latrobe for many years. Tom was a Member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church, a Member of Carpenters LU#333 and a Life Member of the Upper Burrell Vol. Fire Co. #1. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley A (Evans) Richey and brother, John Richey. A special thank you to his Caregivers Jean, Regina and Heritage Hospice Nurses and Aides.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 1-3 PM and 5 PM until time of funeral service at 7 PM by Pastor Doug Marshall at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road, 15068. Burial will be private in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Community Presbyterian Church, 2751 Grant Street, Lower Burrell, PA 15068 or to Heritage Hospice Legacy Fund, 2400 Leechburg Road, Suite #300, New Kensington, PA 15068.
