Thomas Page Winchester Jr.

December 18, 1944 - November 21, 2025 (Age 80)

CHARLOTTE - Thomas Page Winchester, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, surrounded by his family. A native of Monroe, NC, he was born December 18, 1944, the son of the late Thomas Page Winchester, Sr. and Lela Ethel Howie Winchester.

Growing up in Union County, Page attended Parkwood High School and went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating as a proud Tar Heel with a B.A. in Business in 1967. Upon graduation, he enrolled in the Army National Guard and began a career in public accounting. He later worked in IT management, serving in roles including president and controller over the course of his career.

Page met his devoted wife, Brilla, on a blind date in March 1972. They married the following year and celebrated 52 wonderful years together this past May. They welcomed their only child, Kyle, in 1982 and built a family life filled with precious memories and a home full of love.

Page was an active and devoted member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, usher, and treasurer, among numerous other roles. He held an enormous love for his country and a deep sense of gratitude for those who fought and served.

An Eagle Scout with Troop 68 in Mineral Springs, NC, Page embodied the spirit of preparedness, integrity, and service in all that he did. He was deeply committed to supporting others—mentoring colleagues throughout his career and giving back to his community as a coach, Boy Scout Troop Committee Chairman, and PTA President. A passionate follower of sports, he especially loved attending games with his family and friends. Some of his most cherished sporting memories were watching the Tar Heels play live with his son—most unforgettable among them, the UNC Men’s Basketball National Championship in 2005—and numerous golfing majors, including a memorable trip to The Masters in 2023.

In his later years, he found joy in his regular Wednesday golf group and in rediscovering a lifelong interest in model trains. Most tenderly, he made an impact as a grandfather, affectionately known to his twin grandchildren as ‘Tar.’ He kept fresh jellybeans in his home office for their visits and was quick to update the digital picture frame with photos of their most recent activities and events. He loved them so much he traded his flip phone in for a smartphone so he could FaceTime them whenever they wanted to talk.

Page had a strong, calming presence about him that made everyone he met feel at ease, earning him lasting friendships. He possessed a clear perspective on life and what was truly important. His legacy of hard work, devotion, kindness, and strength lives on in all who knew and loved him. His family takes solace knowing he is resting eternally in the arms of the Lord.

Page is survived by his wife, Brilla Ann Gibson Winchester; his son, Kyle Preston Winchester, and wife, Kristin, of Cary, NC; and his grandchildren, Anna Gray and Wright Winchester of Cary, NC. He is also survived by his sisters Edwina Eubanks of Monroe, NC; Jane (Tommy) Starnes of Monroe, NC; and Susan Mullis of Monroe, NC; sister-in-law Frances Kaye (Mike) Martin of Cary, NC; and sister-in-law Donna (Mike) Fogle of Charlotte, NC. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Page was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Lynn Eubanks and Randy Mullis.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his doctors and the staff of Novant Health and Harris Hospice for their exceptional care.

The family visitation will take place Monday, December 1st at 10:00 AM in the worship center of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 AM with Dr. John Harrill officiating. A private burial will take place at a later time.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and LiveSent Ministries.
