Thomas Shincovich

Thomas J Shincovich, 97, of Ruffsdale, passed away on Thursday February 17, 2022. He was born on November 11, 1924, in Hunker, the son of the late Carl and Nellie (Petronik) Shincovich. Thomas was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II. He was unfortunately wounded in the battle in Italy. Thomas was awarded for his service and bravery the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals. and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Youngwood. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Sandra (Gene) Virostko and Susan (Tim) Geyer; his grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Markle, Chris (Joanna) Markle, Michael (Robin) McBeth, Amy (Ron) Ferland and Anne (Rick) Boyd; ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Thomas is also survived by his beloved dog, Cha Cha. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Shincovich; his daughter, Kathy Markle; his granddaughter, Sara Sinclair; his brothers, John, Joseph, Edward and Arthur Shincovich; his sisters, Mary Lorey, Nellie Brahosky and Helen Sincovich. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the C Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. A blessing service will be held on Monday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father William McGuirk officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Park, 150 East Side Drive, Greensburg In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to a charity of one's choice.
