It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas “Bill” Stafford, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Bill departed this life on November 19, 2025, at the age of 78, in his hometown of Lancaster, South Carolina, where he was born on January 16, 1947, to Burnett and Helen Ann Stafford.

Bill lived a life marked by kindness and generosity, often known for his willingness to help others in need. He was a gentle man who could easily light up a room with his warm smile and friendly demeanor. A true jack of all trades, Bill was someone who could fix anything and was always ready to lend a hand. His natural ability to connect with people meant that he never knew a stranger; everyone he met was a potential friend.

Bill’s legacy is carried on by his loving family, which includes his two cherished daughters, Robin Boatright (Brian) and April Paulk (Matt), as well as his son, Kevin Stafford. He was a proud grandfather to Patrick Boatright, Amanda Gulley (Kyle), Samantha Boatright, Tanner Stafford (Kathy), Marshall Stafford (Destiny), and John David Paulk. Bill’s heart overflowed with love for his eight great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and laughter.

Throughout his life, Bill was known for his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit, having owned several businesses in both South Carolina and North Carolina. He also proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that defined his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and respect for others.

Bill’s education included an associate’s degree in business, which laid the groundwork for his successful endeavors. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Kay Stafford, whose memory he cherished deeply. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Dixie Snipes and Orpah Jones, and his precious great-granddaughter, Kinsley Stafford.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on November 25, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Grandview Memorial Park, located at 620 S Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Prior to the graveside service, the family will welcome visitors from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Greene Funeral Home, situated at 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

He will be profoundly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, dear Bill. Your gentle spirit and loving heart will always be remembered.
