Uriah W. "Buck" Plyler
September 21, 1931 - April 24, 2021 (Age 89)
Buck was born on September 21, 1931 in Lancaster, South Carolina to the late Pleasant May Plyler Sr. and Corinne Funderburk Plyler. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Rebecca Plyler, son, Michael Plyler and brothers, PM, Fred, Bill, Bruce and Sam.
Buck was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. Buck was a faithful member of Matthews United Methodist Church for over 60 years. He owned and operated Plyler Construction Company for many years. Buck served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the East Gate Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed working with his brothers running Plyler Brothers Farm and raising cattle.
Buck is survived by son, Gregory Plyler; and children, Morgan, her husband, Jeff Rockett and their daughters, Kylie and Kennedy; Meredith and her husband, Phillip Hladun and their sons, Bryce and Brooks; grandsons, Cameron and wife, Brook Plyler and their children, Brayden and Peyton; Carson and his wife, Taylor Plyler and their son, Briggs. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Jack Helms, Smith Wilson and Mack Pigg; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Helms and Cheryl Pressley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Please join us to celebrate the life of Uriah Whitfield Plyler on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 S. Trade Street, Matthews, North Carolina. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
