Vernon E. Heimberger

February 1, 1931 - November 6, 2021 (Age 90)

Vernon E. Heimberger, 90, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, November 6, 2021 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born February 1, 1931 near Baltimore, Ohio, he was a son of the late Ira E. and Mary (Ford) Heimberger and was a 1950 graduate of Hopewell High School. Vernon proudly served our country for two years as a member of the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum Company of Heath, Ohio after 35 years of service and he was a lifelong farmer. His favorite pastime was traveling to Amish country, traveling the country roads and enjoying the sights.

Surviving is one son, Richard E. Heimberger of Frazeysburg; two daughters and sons in-law, Jean Ann and Randy Dennis of Frazeysburg and Cathy S. and Jim White of Hebron, Ohio; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, with one on the way. Also surviving is one brother and sister in-law, Bob and Ann Heimberger of Lancaster, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Palmer of Gratiot, Ohio and June Lones of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Neola L. (Blackbourne) Heimberger whom he married February 27, 1953 and who died July 19, 2017; a daughter in-law, Barbara Heimberger and two brothers in-law, Robert Lones and Bernard Palmer.

Vernon’s family wishes to give a very special thanks to the staff of Genesis Morrison House for the wonderful care and compassion given to Vernon during his stay with them and they ask that any memorial contributions be made to Genesis Hospice.

Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Vernon will be laid to rest next to his loving wife, Neola, in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
