Victor R. Bauer

June 13, 1931 – April 2, 2026 (Age 94)

Victor R. Bauer, 94, of Pottstown, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on April 2, 2026. Born the youngest of ten children to the late Edward and Alice (Tobin) Bauer, Victor lived a life defined by resilience and devotion. He cherished 67 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pearl (Eagle) Bauer, who preceded him in death in 2018.

Victor lived a full and meaningful life. Raised on a farm in Bally, he began working at age 12 after graduating from Most Blessed Sacrament School. He answered the call to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery. In the 1950s, Victor moved to Pottstown to pursue the American Dream and start a new chapter with Pearl. There, he raised two sons and later welcomed their families with open arms, generous smiles, and sweet treats. He dedicated 40 years of hard work to Boyertown Auto Body Works until its closing in 1990.

Victor found great joy in spending time with family and friends, sharing stories that always brought a smile. On warm summer evenings, he could often be found on his porch, savoring the sights and sounds of his neighborhood. Ever generous with his time and talents, Victor was a steady source of wisdom and skill—always ready to help, whether fixing household projects or repairing cars. He was also an avid gardener, known for his bountiful tomatoes and vibrant roses.

Victor was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Stowe.

He is survived by his son, Gary E. Bauer of Pottstown; his daughter-in-law, Kate E. Bauer of Perkiomenville; five grandchildren, David K. Bauer (Stephanie), Michael K. Bauer (Carly), Brian K. Bauer (Christine), Darby J. Bauer, and Sophie G. Bauer; and four great-grandchildren: Hayley, Ellie, Noah, and Zoe.

In addition to his parents and wife, Victor was predeceased by his son, Donald A. Bauer; his daughter-in-law, Kathy F. Bauer; five brothers—Joseph, Thomas, Larry, Leonard, and Gerald Bauer—and four sisters: Margaret Bauer, Marie Kauffman, Veronica Henry, and Irene Urffer.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Monday April 13, 2026 at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King Street, Pottstown. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. There will be a visitation on Monday from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
