Vincenza Pancamo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincenza Pancamo “Vinnie”, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many through her unwavering love, dedication, and commitment to her family and faith. Vincenza peacefully passed away on August 19, 2023, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on March 3, 1934, to the late Antonio and Gaetana Miceli, Vincenza led a life defined by her love and selflessness. She was a devoted wife to Salvatore for 52 years, exemplifying the beauty of enduring love and partnership. Their journey together was marked by shared joys, sorrows, and an unbreakable bond that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

After mastering the toughest job in the world, Vincenza had proudly raised 7 children and was ready for something to call her own. At the age of 40- something Vincenza went to work for a major law firm in New York City where she made her mark working as administrative assistant contributing her skills and dedication. Her commitment and attention to detail were not only evident in her career, but also in the way she nurtured and cared for her family. Throughout her life, Vincenza resided in various places, including Brooklyn, New York, Mt. Holly, New Jersey, and Indian Trail, North Carolina where she relocated to be closer to her family.

A woman of strong faith, she found solace and strength in her religious beliefs. In her spare time, she would administer the Holy Eucharist to patients at the hospital as well as to prison inmates. Her devotion to her faith was unwavering, and she instilled these values in her family, leaving behind a legacy of spiritual guidance and inspiration.

She was the epitome of selflessness, always placing the needs and well-being of her family above her own. As a mother of seven, she embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood with grace and determination. Her love extended to her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, making cherished memories with each generation.

Vincenza is survived by her children; John (Debbie), Sal (Anna), Steven (Elizabeth), and Rosalie. Grandchildren; Christopher, Jessica, Joseph, Anthony, Vincent, Anthony, Shane, Mikey, Matthew, Andrew, Julia, Alex, William, and James. Great grandchildren; Charlie, Lidia, Luca, and Micah. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Millie; son in law, Ethan; brother, John Miceli (Mary Ann); nieces, Rose and Debbie; nephew, Walter; and special friend, Janine.

Her affection wasn't limited to humans alone; Vincenza had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat, Luke, and her loyal dog, Louie. Their presence brought her comfort and companionship, showcasing her kind and caring nature.

Though Vincenza has left this earthly realm, her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and devotion that will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends for generations to come.

A prayer service to celebrate the life of Vincenza will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at Heritage Funeral Home ~ Indian Trail Chapel from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. A funeral mass with be held Wednesday, August 23 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church at 11:00am with a burial following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, as a tribute to Vincenza's caring spirit and commitment to helping others.
