Violet McConnell, 100 of Marion, formally of Zanesville, died 5:36 PM, Friday, August 23, 2024, at Legacy of Marion. She was born Tuesday, November 6, 1923, in Robins, Ohio the daughter of Samuel Simmons and Jane (Fairhurst) Simmons. Violet was a former member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and married Grant McConnell on Nov 25, 1959.
Violet was a 74 year member of Muskingum Chapter # 485, Order of the Eastern Star, and was active in Jobs Daughters.
Violet is survived by two children, Vicki (Eric) Stuart of Montague, MI and William (Jane) Luzadder, Jr. of Delaware; four grandchildren, Jack and Charlotte Stuart, Jennifer Luzadder Conrad, Virginia Luzadder-Mullenix and Jessica Luzadder; three great grandchildren and one daughter-in-law, Venita Luzadder of Newark.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her first husband, Capt. William Luzadder, Sr. who was killed in action in Korea, April 15, 1953; her second husband, Grant McConnell; one son, Richard Luzadder; one grandson, David Luzadder and one infant grandson, William E. Luzadder, III.
Friends may call 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where Muskingum Chapter # 485 will conduct Eastern Star Services at 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM., with Rev. Pastor Eddie Warne officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
