Virginia L. “Ginny” Ewing, of Southwest Greensburg, died Monday, February 28, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. She was born July 7, 1943, in Hopwood, a daughter of the late Vernon C. and Evelyn M. (Stanton) Frazee. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in education at Grove City College, as well as a Master’s degree in Library Science from University of Pittsburgh. She had been employed by Greensburg Salem and Hempfield Area School Districts, retiring from West Hempfield Middle School. Ginny was a very active member of First Baptist Church, Greensburg. She was the director of Vacation Bible School for many years, an adult Sunday school teacher, and faithfully participated in Bible study. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Ewing, in September 2021. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Ewing (Rebecca), of North Huntingdon, Jared Ewing (Kimberly), of Greensburg, Jeremy Ewing (Karen), of Plum, and Jennifer Garman (Adam), of Dover; eight grandchildren, Dana, Jessica, Michael, Brady, Ryan, Caleb, Christopher and Julianne; her sister, Kathleen Stanton (Bob Richey); her nephew, Todd Smith (Ellen); several cousins and many good friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday, March 4, 2022, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM Saturday, March 5, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 1228 Brinkerton Road, Greensburg, PA 15601, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. David Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Greensburg.
