Virginia Killander

LaVale, MD – Virginia Killander, 94, of LaVale, MD, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Born August 11, 1928, in Franklin, WV, Mrs. Killander was the daughter of the late Alva and Martha Propst. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Gary, her husband, Fred Killander, her sister, Bonnie Hulvy and her brothers: Charles and Lester Propst.
Virginia was one of ten children. She was born and raised on a farm near Franklin, WV, and moved to Cumberland on January 1, 1948, she married Fred Killander on September 10, 1949 at Saint Patrick’s Church in Cumberland. She was a life member of the LaVale VFD Ladies Auxiliary.
Virginia is survived by her sons: Randy of LaVale and Keith and wife, Kayla of Finzel; her daughter, Lisa, her grandson, Ryan, her granddaughters: Renee and Carly all of Austin, TX; four step grandchildren, her sisters: Jean Lambert and Fran Rexrode; her brothers: Ray, Jim and Bud Propst; as well as her dear friend and sister-in-law, Helen Goodrich.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M., with Father Mark Carter officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
